We take a considered approach to the building envelope, incorporating modern high-performance building practices such as airtight construction, quality building wraps, careful sealing around windows and openings, high-performance insulation and energy-efficient glazing.
Where suited to the design, we can also incorporate passive-house principles, improved thermal performance and sustainable building materials to help reduce heat loss in winter, minimise heat gain in summer and create a more stable indoor environment throughout the year.
Attention to detail is especially important when it comes to air and moisture control. Correct installation of membranes, taping and sealing around penetrations, windows and doors can have a major impact on how a home performs once it is completed. These are the details that are often hidden behind the finished walls, but they play an important role in comfort, durability and long-term building performance.
